Line Stopping
SBI Tapping's expert line stopping techniques bypass and isolate specific sections of your distribution system for repairs and or replacement of valves, pipe and hydrants. Flow stoppage can be accomplished very quickly and without main shutdowns or even interruption of service.
Line stopping is the process of stopping flow through a section of piping. This allows for temporary shutoff and flow control to allow for pipe maintenance. The advantage of our process is that we are able to bypass the maintenance area and are able to keep your services running without interruption.
Line stops are performed on carbon steel, galvanized steel, stainless steel, brass, copper, cast iron, ductile iron, transite/ACP, PVC, concrete cylinder pipe and more.

Line Tapping
Our water main valve insertion and line tapping capabilities allow you to connect new services to an existing line without shutting down the system. Like all our services, SBI Tapping’s line tapping allows work to be performed on a line while the rest of your system continues to operate normally.
We use a unique system for our line tapping as shown in the diagram below:
Valve Insertion
SBI Tapping’s valve insertion methods allow us to insert a gate valve directly into an existing water or waste water main while the existing pipeline is under working pressure, without any interruption of flow or service. We can work with 4" to 12" sizes on PVC IPS, C900, Steel, Cast iron, AC and Ductile.
